Salisbury East High School supports our students and families with our laptop hire program.
While Year 8s, 9s and 10s are expected to bring their own device to school, Year 11 and 12 students are able to hire a laptop from the school for their school work.
The cost is $100 (non-refundable), or $50 for Semester 2.
As our students move into learning 'anytime, anywhere', which is a key priority for our school, there is increasing need for all students to have access to a computer both at school and at home to undertake their studies.
Forms to hire a computer are available from the school's front office for parents or students to collect. When completed, students return their form and the fee to the front office and our IT Technicians will supply them with a laptop computer.
The devices are ready to immediately access the SEHS computer network at school using our wireless connections, and students can also access this at home using their own Internet connection.
It is important to emphasise that when students use their own computer or hire a school computer, they will have access at school and at home to the full range of Microsoft Office 2013 programs, the Adobe Creative Cloud CS6 suite, Pro Engineer CAD software, ePagecreator eBook software and our daily management program, DayMap, as well as their own personal directory of files. This is all completely free of charge and available to use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as our servers never shut down.
Access to these programs and files is through the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). More details on this are available by clicking here.
This is an valuable service that our school provides to assist our students to undertake their studies.
