Student Support

Students at Salisbury East High School are supported through the Student Development Program to develop self-confidence, social skills and positive personal attitudes.

Home Group teachers and Year Level Coordinators actively monitor the performance and welfare and well being of students and communicate regularly and effectively with home.

A team of dedicated staff also support students in relation to emotional and social well being while pathways advice is provided by our Pathways Coordinator.

Year 8 students participate in an extensive transition program to support them moving from primary to secondary school, including:

  • Interviews with families and primary school staff
  • Orientation visits to the school in Term 4
  • Peer support from trained student leaders
  • An induction program (held on the first day of the new school year)
  • A Transition Camp and
  • Parent Information evenings

SEHS also incorporates positive education into its programs and focusses on the PERMA model of well being - Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment.
